Hi Friend!
I’m Jessi, a small town girl from Idaho with a lot of passion for creating. I am a writer, a mother of five, a military wife, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Take a look around and thanks for stopping by!

We are on Sub!
At the moment, my debut picture book “Smarty Pants” is on ‘Sub’ which means my agent has sent it out to a list of publishers with the hope of a publishing offer. Click hear to read how I got to this point in my writing journey.

I had such a great experience as a fellow and have loads to share. Head to the Blog post to read about the fellowship, lessons learned and more.

Getting back in the Studio
My husband and I have a whole host of songs we are anxious to record. Finding time with five kids is tough. Read how we manage our time at The Perennial Parent.

Smarty Pants on Sub!
I was told over and over again not to write in rhyme because publishers can’t make as much money internationally on it (translation struggles) but I have always loved rhyming books! Check out my blog post on why rhyming picture books are a great choice for young readers.

I’ve heard “write what you know” a million times over. But having worked as an Intelligence Analyst for 17 years, I got really good at researching, so I know a lot of things. I think it’s more accurate to say “write what you’ve felt.”

With five kids and full time job, when do I write? Or cook, and clean, and soccer and go to school functions!

Being a veteran was hard, being a military spouse is hard too. But there are lots of resources to help you.

Change is hard for families, and I’m no stranger. Between my current military life, and my adolescence traveling back and forth to Mexico when my family lived full time on a sailboat, I’ve aquired some lessons learned to help others and their families navigate change.
#unqualified
Everyone (who has never done what you are trying to do) will be happy to tell you that you can’t. That you don’t have the right degree, the right experience, or even shame you for wanting something for yourself, especially if you’re a parent. But I have a different outlook on goals and a ton of resources to inspire you to meet yours.
